From July 7th to 10th, 2026 – 4 Days of Exhibition and Conferences Organised every two years, the EWSHM is the main European event dedicated to structural health monitoring (SHM), a key technology for infrastructure maintenance and integrity monitoring. This unmissable event attracts world-renowned experts from the academic and industrial sectors, as well as from research laboratories around the world, to discuss innovations and applications in this constantly evolving field. In 2026, Toulouse (France), the pink city, known for its aeronautics and space industry, hosted the 12th EWSHM.
NAVITEC Workshop 2026
Oussama Tahri presented Université Gustave Eiffel 's research at the European Space Agency - ESA NAVITEC Workshop 2026, delivering an oral presentation of the paper: "Adaptive Factor Graph Optimization with Influence-based Protection Levels for GNSS in Urban Environments."
The paper presents a novel framework for calculating uncertainty bounds by utilizing Factor Graph Optimization (FGO), showing how sliding-window factor graphs can effectively bound positioning errors in challenging environments to meet strict safety and integrity requirements, addressing the stringent integrity requirements of safety-critical GNSS applications.
The workshop also provided an opportunity to participate in technical sessions and engage with researchers and industry stakeholders on current challenges and future research directions in Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT).
The paper will be published in IEEE Xplore.
We thank the European Space Agency (ESA) for organizing the NAVITEC Workshop and providing a valuable forum for the dissemination and discussion of advances in GNSS integrity and resilient PNT technologies.
