SYSIFE

SySIFe

SySIFe is a railway traffic simulator designed to conduct accelerated, full-scale tests to study the effects of traffic on a railway structure or track, which may be instrumented. Designed for research testing and expert assessments, the platform also enables the validation of monitoring methods and inspection equipment. The SySIFe platform comprises two test slabs: one covering an area of 40 m² (9 m long) and the other, more recent one, covering 90 m² (15 m long). Depending on the slab used, the operating speed can reach 100 km/h, with a maximum axle load of 25 tonnes. At this speed, the simulator can apply 800 axle passages per hour, equivalent to up to 19,000 axle passages per day.
