General Overview

The Structure and Integrated Instrumentation Laboratory (SII) is equipped, within the Nantes center’s vibration bench facility, with two testing platforms (test slabs) measuring 9 m × 4 m and 15 m × 6 m, respectively. These platforms are decoupled from the building and can be fitted with jacks and test assemblies. Two pits provide the possibility to place excitation devices at floor level (plate or guided table).

These two slabs can be equipped with three electro-hydraulic servo actuators of 7 kN, 25 kN, and 100 kN, featuring the following specifications:

Specialized generators and data acquisition systems enable a wide range of dynamic tests for research and industry, such as:

  • The dynamic behavior of equipment or structures for the calibration of numerical models
  • Structural fatigue testing
  • Evaluation of equipment performance, including environmental resilience
